About Penolta
A company built on running systems that could not fail.
Penolta exists to bring infrastructure-grade discipline to places that rarely get it: the software the logistics industry runs on, and the security posture of organisations that can't afford to guess.
The background
Senior infrastructure, in environments with no margin for error.
Our founder spent a career leading IT infrastructure inside large, regulated organisations — the kind where systems run continuously, data is sensitive by default, and an outage is a serious operational event rather than an inconvenience. That work spanned four demanding sectors.
Aviation
Infrastructure supporting a major airline operation: round-the-clock, safety-conscious, and unforgiving of downtime. The discipline of keeping critical services available across time zones and peak demand is hard to learn anywhere else.
Healthcare
Systems within a large NHS teaching environment, where clinical services depend on uptime and patient data carries the highest expectations for confidentiality, integrity and access control.
Legal
Infrastructure for a national body in the legal sector — an environment defined by governance, records, regulatory obligation and the careful handling of confidential information.
Transport
Public-facing systems at city scale, where resilience, capacity and continuity directly affect how a major transport network serves the people who rely on it every day.
Why it matters
The same standard, applied to new problems.
These environments teach a particular way of thinking: design for failure, respect data, document decisions, and never confuse "it works today" with "it will hold under load tomorrow." That mindset is what we bring to both sides of the business.
In our software, it shows up as products that are built to be operated, not just demonstrated. In our cybersecurity practice, it shows up as advice that comes from having run the systems we're asked to protect — not from a checklist alone.
